Jose Mourinho lost his second game of the season at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, few hours after rivals Manchester City thrashed Arsenal 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium.
Pep Guardiola’s side are now leading the race with eight points ahead of the next premier league fixtures after the international break.
Manchester United kicked off the season impressively, but the team have been experiencing some issues since Frenchman Paul Pogba suffered a hamstring injury against Basel in September.
In Pogba’s absence, Ander Herrera has failed to provide adequate cover, despite being crowned the best Man United player last season.
However, while giving updates on his side’s injury situations recently, Jose has made it known that players like Ibrahimovic, Rojo and Pogba are returning back to full fitness.
We expect Mourinho to make use of a new 4-3-1-2 system when the players are fully back from their respective injuries.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who was the club’s top scorer last season, should partner with Romelu Lukaku in the attack.
Paul as well should take his role in the midfield, while Rojo should start in the left back position.
Here is how Mourinho is likely to line up with the trio.
GK – De Gea
DL – Rojo
DC – Jones
DC – Bailly
DR – Valencia
DM – Matic
MC – Pogba
MC – Herrera
AC – Mkhitaryan
FC – Ibrahimovic
FC – Lukaku
