Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is looking to take advantage of the ongoing winter transfer window to reinforce his defense department by signing a new defender before the closure of the window.

And according to reports, the red devils are weighing up a move for Celtic defender Kieran Tierney.

Kieran has evolved into one of the most important members of the Scotland club after breaking into the first-team in 2014.

The Scottish defender was heavily linked with Chelsea and Arsenal last summer and is still linked with a move away from Celtic this January.

According to the Daily Record, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is interested in signing another left back this month, and he has identified the 20-year-old as a good guy for the job at Old Trafford.

Fulham youngster Ryan Sessegnon has also been linked with the red devils in recent times, and it was made known that the Portuguese tactician views Ryan and Kieran as cheaper options to Alex Sandro.

The Scottish youngster has won two top-flight titles with Celtic and has also represented the club in the Champions League.

Despite being a teenager, he made his debut for Scotland in 2016 and has become a regular for his national side since then.

Manchester United are already 15 points behind league leaders Manchester City, but Mourinho is not backing out yet from the title race.
