£35.5million rated Serie A star set to join Arsenal as club prepares for departure of Sanchez and Ozil

According to reports, North London giants Arsenal are preparing a £35.5million offer to complete the move of Juventus star Medhi Benatia next month as they could have a lot to spend.

Arsenal are looking likely to sell Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil this winter transfer window instead of losing the pair for free and could begin their spending spree with a bid for Benatia, as per Sky Sport Italia, via the Daily Express.

The Morocco international defender is seen as one of Europe’s best centre-backs, having performed brilliantly for Juventus and former clubs Roma and Bayern Munich in time past.

There’s no doubt the Gunners could do with a bringing in a player of his calibre in defence this campaign, with Frenchman Laurent Koscielny possibly looking past his playing best and with German Shkodran Mustafi failing to perform consistently.

Germany international defender Per Mertesacker is also preparing to retire when the season ends, so making a move for Benatia now could be a reasonable decision by Arsenal.

The Express suggest the Gunners are prepared to bid £35.5million for the Serie A star, and claim that might be good enough to convince Juventus to sell him.

The same publication claim the signing of Benatia could be one of a number of moves this winter transfer window if the Superstar duo and other top stars such as England midfielder Jack Wilshere and forward Theo Walcott also set to depart the Emirates Stadium.
