Borussia Moenchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl has revealed that the club is hopeful that they can secure the future of in-form Thorgan Hazard at the club.
The 25-year-old Belgian international winger has been attracting the interest of several European clubs including Liverpool with his current deal with Borussia Moenchengladbach gradually coming to an end.
Max Eberl spoke about the contract situation of Thorgan Hazard in an interview with Sky Germany as he confirmed that they are trying to tie him down to a new deal.
Thorgan Hazard is the younger brother of Chelsea talisman Eden Hazard and they both play for the Belgian national team.
Both players were in the Red Devils of Belgium to last summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.
Eden and Thorgan were also together at Chelsea until the former left the Blues to join Borussia Moenchengladbach permanently.
Thorgan Hazard has been in sensational form for Borussia Moengladbach this term with the German club in the running for the league club with the usual contenders Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
He has scored nine goals and also provided eight assists in 21 appearances.
Thorgan Hazard has been attracting interests of both Liverpool and Bayern Munich with 18 months left on his current contract with Borussia Moenchengladbach.
