Manchester United Set to Replace Starman with 11-goal Striker

Manchester United Set to Replace Alexis Sanchez with Real Madrid Star Striker

Having seen Alexis Sanchez flops since his switch to Old Trafford, Manchester United manager José Mourinho could be moving for Real Madrid striker James Rodriguez who is currently on a two-year loan deal at Bayern Munich.

The Colombian international is uncertain over his future at the Allianz Arena as coach Jupp Heynckes, who have shown much faith in him, could be moving out of the team by the end of the season and he might be pushed down the pecking order when another coach arrives ahead of next season.

The 26-year-old versatile player has been phenomenal for the Bundesliga Champions this season despite not seeing much playing time.

He has been directly involved in 11 goals in 14 Bundesliga starts this campaign and he hopes to add to it before the season comes to conclusion in May.

James’ fear of losing his place in the team after Heynckes departure has given United the opportunity to launch a move for the Colombian services as the Red Devils hope to convince him to move to the 20-time Premier League Champions by promising him of regular first-team action in the upcoming season.

It is yet to be seen if Madrid will sanction his move out of Santiago Bernabeu, considering the striker crisis that rocked the team during the first period of the season.

Though the Los Blancos attackers are back to their blistering form, Zinedine Zidane might require James’ services next season so as to compete for the La Liga and European glory.

United will have to meet James’ release clause of £438m if they must stand a chance of acquiring the player’s services ahead of next season.

The Red Devils must also create space for the striker by selling either misfiring Alexis Sanchez, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford or Jesse Lingard in the summer.
