Chelsea star player Nemanja Matic has emerged as a target for Jose Mourinho this summer and is determined to reunite with the defensive midfielder again at Old Trafford.
And in a new development, there are reports that the Portuguese manager has told the premier league champions that he wants to know if a deal for the Serbian is possible within the next 48 hours.
Mourinho is said to grow frustrated that his current side are not making reasonable progress with transfers and literally wants his major signings in place before they travel to the United States for their pre-season tour later on.
And The Sun said the United boss believes that his former employers are ‘stringing him along’ with Nemanja, and is now demanding an answer from the Stamford Bridge club over Matic’s availability.
It is understood that Chelsea are close to signing Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco, however, a deal has not yet been made official by the English champions.
Jose Mourinho is a manager who loves having a strong defensive midfielder in his team, but is yet to have one at Manchester United since arriving last summer. He is still on the lookout to sign a new defensive midfielder, and Tottenham’s Eric Dier is also said to be on his radar – though it appears Mauricio Pochettino is not interested in selling the player now.
