Man United manager Jose Mourinho holds discussions with Arsenal transfer target

As per reports, Jose Mourinho has held talks with Dortmund star Sokratis Papastathopoulos about a possible move to Man United amid interest from rivals Arsenal.

German publication Waz, as cited by the Metro, is claiming that the Red Devils are looking to usurp the Gunners in the transfer race to land the Greece international defender in the summer.

Arsenal favourite to sign defender

The Gunners were believed to be favourites to land the 29-year-old defender this summer transfer window as Arsenal look to capitalise on their special links with the German Bundesliga side.

However, Waz suggest that Jose Mourinho has made a personal push to land Papastathopoulos as the tactician looks to sign a new centre-half.

As reported by the same report, the Red Devils boss has called the experienced centre-half and has underlined the team’s desire to land the Borussia Dortmund defender.

Man United want Toby

Manchester United are speculated to be interested in Spurs contract rebel Belgian Toby Alderweireld in the summer window.
