According to Sky Sports reporter Peter Graves, Premier League giants Manchester United are close to sealing a deal to bring midfielder Fred from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk.

Man United have been strongly linked with a switch to bring the 25-year-old midfielder to Old Trafford recently as manager Jose Mourinho looks to strengthen his team ahead of next campaign.

The Red Devils are thought to be seeking midfield reinforcements this summer transfer window, with Englishman Michael Carrick having retired and Belgian Marouane Fellaini’s future at Old Trafford still unclear.
