Premier League leaders Liverpool have been cautioned in their chase for RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner according to reports coming out from the media in Germany.

Timo Werner has been in superb form for his German Bundesliga club this season and that has led to interests from major European sides like Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

RB Leipzig CEO (Chief Executive Officer) Dietrich Mateschitz has told the interested clubs that Timo Werner won’t be sold at a cheap transfer fee.

By the summer, Timo Werner will have just one year left on his current deal with RB Leipzig.

RB Leipzig will have to decide whether to sell him or not if the player fails to sign a new contract at the club.

The Europa League campaigners might lose the player for free in 2020 if they don’t sell him this summer.

Timo Werner has scored 14 goals in addition to two assists in 25 games for RB Leipzig this season.

The petite striker has also become an integral part of the German national team setup after netting nine goals in 23 games for the four-time world champions.

Timo Werner was part of the Germany squad that flopped badly at the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.
