Manchester United long-term target Ivan Perisic has spoken on the alleged interest for him from the Old Trafford by stating that he would have been a Red Devils today.

According to Ivan Perisic, he came close to putting pen to paper in the last summer as he was almost convinced by former manager Jose Mourinho.

There is no doubt that the World Cup finalist is being admired by the Portuguese boss and had made moves to secure his signature but most of his wishes were not sanctioned, a development that resulted to outburst between Mourinho and United’s executive vice-chairman.

Ivan Perisic, therefore, confessed he had received an offer from the Red Devils which he almost considered as he was already preparing his goodbye message for Inter Milan.

He noted that he had no choice than to remain at the San Siro because of his relationship with Spalletti despite being lured by Mourinho’s interest.

However, manager Jose Mourinho has now been sacked by the United boss and has since been replaced by former player Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who has started the good work with a number of wins.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been handed with the responsibility of remaining with ensuring the Old Trafford team returns to the Champions League next season.
