Liverpool are set to clash with West Ham on Sunday for their first premier league game as far as the new campaign is concerned – Official Page.
The Merseyside club were quite superb last term. Apart from their entertaining way of playing football, they were able to finish on the fourth spot of the premier league table – and could have won the Champions League at Kiev.
They splashed over £170m this summer to strengthen their team and are evolving into an unstoppable force this season.
It is easy to underestimate Switzerland star player Xherdan Shaqiri, considering the huge fees Liverpool splashed to sign other players.
However, the former Stoke City star has put up some superb displays during the side’s pre-season tour – we aren’t forgetting the fantastic goal he scored against Manchester United in the United States.
We expect manager Jurgen Klopp to give Xherdan a start against West Ham United on Sunday.
Shaqiri did well in the central role during pre-season – despite being a right-winger. He is likely to continue playing in that position this new term instead of sitting on the bench because of Mohamed Salah.
Imagine a team of Xherdan Shaqiri, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah. West Ham will definitely be trashed.
