Jurgen Klopp must take advantage of the upcoming January transfer window to reinforce his defense department by signing at least one defender, Liverpool have been linked with Atletico Madrid’s Sime Vrsaljko in recent times.
A few days back, there were widespread speculations that Liverpool have approached the La Liga club to sign the Croatian full-back, despite that he has been mainly warming the bench this season so far.
And recently, it was made known that Jurgen Klopp’s side have now moved in with an offer to get Sime’s signature.
Popular football journalist Tancredi Palmeri claimed in a tweet that Diego Simeone’s side received an offer worth €28 Million from the Anfield club for Vrsaljko.
Despite the player’s struggles for regular playing time this term, manager Diego recently hailed him as a ‘big player’ who has ‘a value’.
Vrsaljko joined Atletico Madrid in last year, but has played just 20 games since his arrival at the Spanish capital.
The former Dinamo Zagreb star needs regular playing time to secure a spot in his country’s World Cup squad travelling to Russia next year.
Sime is a versatile player who can effectively play both as a right back and as a left back.
At Anfield, the duo of Alberto Moreno and Clyne are currently out with injuries, and Vrsaljko can come over to give manager Jurgen Klopp more options.
