Liverpool are considering a £60million bid for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, according to reports.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is planning big on bringing defensive players to his current squad next season and has identified Koulibaly as a potential target next summer.
Reports in the Goal claims that Liverpool are ready to spend up to £60million to sign the Senegalese defender next summer.
The 25-year-old centre back has been a standout performer at Napoli since his move in 2015 which has continually fuelled speculation about him moving to the Premier League.
During the last summer transfer window, there were strong suggestions that Koulibaly was on the verge of joining Chelsea and there are speculation that Antonio Conte is still keen on signing him next summer but will face competition from Liverpool.
Although the report suggests that Jurgen Klopp views Southampton defender Virgil Van Dijk as a priority target but will look to sign Koulibaly as a viable alternative if the Dutchman does not come to Anfield.
It is understood that Napoli is reluctant to allow the highly rated defender leave the club next summer, as he is believed to be one of the best defender in the Italian Serie A. But an astronomical fee could see the club sell the defender.
