Liverpool Not Interested In Re-signing Barcelona Star

Five-time European champions Liverpool are reportedly not interested in re-signing Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho.
The Daily Telegraph say that the Reds are not open to the idea of securing a return for the Brazilian international star.

Philippe Coutinho has been linked with an exit from Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona in this transfer window after failing to secure a spot in the Barcelona starting XI.

Manchester United have been heavily mentioned as a possible destination for him.

The former Inter Milan star signed for Barcelona from Liverpool in January 2018.

The Catalans paid £142m for his transfer as he signed a five-and-a-half-year contract at the Nou Camp.

Coutinho is the third most expensive player in the history of world football behind 2018 FIFA World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe and compatriot Neymar who both play for French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG).

The Brazilian playmaker impressed for his country at last summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia before they were knocked out by Brazil in their last eight clashes.

The 26-year-old has not been able to replicate that form in the colours of Barcelona this term with just 10 La Liga starts.

He has scored just four goals in the league this season in addition to the fact that he has started just one of the last five games in the Spanish La Liga.
