According to reports, Liverpool are getting ready to hold talks with the agents of Lyon player Alexandre Lacazette over the availability of the talented forward this summer.
The player has scored 129 goals in 275 appearances for the French club since breaking into their first-team back then in 2010. However, he is now heavily linked with a switch to the English top flight ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.
Lacazette has been linked with both Manchester United and Arsenal in recent times. However, it is understood that Liverpool have also joined in the race for the Frenchman.
And according to The Sunday Express, Liverpool officials will hold negotiations with Lacazette’s advisors next week over a move to Anfield this summer.
Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp is keen on bolstering his squad ahead of a busy campaign next season. The German boss is bringing attacking reinforcements to Anfield as Daniel Sturridge is expected to leave anytime soon.
It is understood that Alexandre is desperate to play in the Champions League next season, and if the speculations are anything to go by, then it means Liverpool and Man United have more advantaged than Arsenal in the race for his signature.
Lyon are said to be demanding a fee of around £50 million for the player.
