Gabriel Barbosa’s agent, Wagner Ribeiro has said his client will not be leaving Inter Milan, backing him to break into the first team.
The Brazilian sensation arrived in Italy last summer amidst serious interest from top European clubs but has managed 20 minutes of action so far this season.
Inter Milan boss Stefano Pioli has also hinted the 20-year-old could be shipped out on loan this January which sparked interest from Liverpool, but his agent has dealt the Reds a major blow in their transfer.
“He has a contract until 2021. The club have never spoken [to me] about loaning him out,” Ribeiro said on the former Santos star.
“Really, he has great potential. He only needs to be well focused because he is only 20. This may not be a problem and should be an advantage instead.
“Gabigol blends strength and talent. We hope that everything will work out better for him at Inter in 2017.”
Jurgen Klopp is belived to be in market for attacking reinforcement to deputise for Sadio Mane who is currently on Africa Cup of Nations duty with Senegal.
Reds also reportedly hired physio to monitor the fitness of the Senegalese during his time at the Nations Cup in Gabon in a bid to avoid injury problems for the star.
