Premier League table toppers Liverpool have reportedly been linked with a bargain transfer swoop for one of the best players in the Scottish Premiership.
The Scottish Sun claim that the Reds are interested in signing Celtic winger James Forrest with a transfer possible at the end of the season.
James Forrest has a Celtic contract that does not expire until the end of the 2021/22 season but that has not stopped him from being linked with a move away from the Scottish champions.
The 27-year-old came through the ranks at Celtic before making his debut for the Scottish Premiership leaders in 2010.
He has been a key player for Celtic since he broke into the first team.
James Forrest has scored 11 goals and also provided 17 assists in 34 games for Celtic in all competitions.
His goal contributions have propelled Europa League campaigners Celtic to the top of the table in Scotland.
James Forrest has been an influential figure for the Scottish national team over the years with five goals in 29 appearances.
Liverpool could get him for as low as £8m at the end of the season.
He might find it hard to break into the Liverpool attack with the famed trio Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino still going strong for the Reds.
