Borussia Dortmund star player Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang appears destined to play in the premier league next season after emerging as a target for both Chelsea and Liverpool this summer.
Both English heavyweights look to be in a direct tussle for the £65million transfer of the African striker.
Aubameyang scored 40 goals last term to attract interest from a handful of top clubs across Europe this summer, and has most recently been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea.
But it appears the premier league champions could face competition from their rivals, with reports that Jurgen Klopp’s side have made contact with Aubameyang’s club over his signing.
And considering Jurgen Klopp’s connections with Dortmund, we might say the reds have an advantage over Chelsea to land the Gabon international, despite that he has been linked with the west London club for much of this summer.
Klopp spent seven years as boss at Dortmund and was the one who signed the striker from Saint-Etienne in 2013.
The Sun reported that the Anfield club have been reaching out to Dortmund over a move for the player since April, and may be ahead of Antonio Conte’s side due to Chelsea’s struggles in the transfer market.
The English champions are facing difficulties in landing a number of players needed by Conte this summer, having missed out on Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United.
