Liverpool ahead of United and Tottenham in the race to sign world-class winger

PSV Eindhoven youngster Steven Bergwijn continues to draw attention from top European clubs due to his consistent form for the Eredivisie side.

The highly-rated winger is being chased by many Premier League giants as Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester City are very keen on his signature.

The Sun reported during the week that PSV are unlikely to release the ever-growing winger in the middle of the season but the Eredivisie side appeared to have changed their mind.

The same media outlet now reports that the Dutch side have slapped a £27m price tag on the youngster’s signature and the Reds are ready to reach a deal with PSV for him as soon as possible.

The race for the youngster gets tougher and more interesting as the day goes by because Manchester United and Tottenham are equally ready to give all it takes to lure the player to their respective teams.

Solskjaer, whose short-term spell at Old Trafford has yielded great results, wants to add more firepower to his attacking department.

Tottenham are facing huge injury crises at the moment, and a sorry Pochetino — who failed to sign any player before the start of the season — is looking to beat his rivals to Bergwijn’s signature.

Tottenham’s talisman Harry Kane and impressive forward Dele Alli are out of action due to injury while Son is still unavailable due to international commitments.

However, it’s believed that Pochetino’s employers are not active in the race to capture the youngster as they are far behind Liverpool and United.

Bergwijn has scored 10 goals from 24 appearances in the Dutch League this season.
