Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has heaped high praise on star player Mohamed Salah after he hit a landmark goal in the comeback win over Southampton.

The former AS Roma and Fiorentina player was amongst the goals as Liverpool came from a goal down to beat the Saints 3-1 in front of their home fans.

Mohamed Salah scored his 50th Premier League goal for the Reds in the win over Southampton to become the quickest player to reach that mark.

It has taken the Egyptian just 66 games for him to reach the 50 Premier League goals landmark.

Salah scored his goal on 80 minutes to put the Reds 2-1 up after the opening goal from Southampton striker Shane Long was cancelled out by Reds midfielder Naby Keita in the first half.

The Egyptian international had not scored in his last eight games for Liverpool before his goal against the Saints off an assist from substitute Jordan Henderson.

The club’s skipper then scored a third goal for Liverpool six minutes after providing the assist for Salah to wrap up the points for the Merseysiders.

With the win, Liverpool move ahead of title rivals Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table though the Reds have played a game more.
