Chelsea legend John Terry is leaving Stamford Bridge this summer, but it is not yet certain what his next step would be.
In a new development, however, there are reports that the Englishman is set to seal a free transfer to Aston Villa this weekend when his contract with the Blues officially expires.
The former England captain has had a handful of offers this summer after becoming surplus to requirements at the West London club and has chosen to make the step down to the Championship.
The 36-year-old could have continued in the English top flight after interests from West Brom, Bournemouth, and Swansea City.
According to the Daily Mirror, the duo of Villa and Birmingham City are the main contenders to snap the veteran defender, but John looks to have made the decision to make a move to Villa Park.
He was recently seen playing golf with Villa boss Steve Bruce with his son in Portugal.
Even though Bruce’s side finished 13th in the Championship last term, we expect them to be among the contenders to go up next season.
