The international break is here again, and Patriots will be cheering up their respective countries for World Cup qualifiers and friendly games, England will face Slovenia and Lithuania for the race to the World Cup in Russia.
Manchester United will be clashing with Liverpool immediately after the international break for their next premier league game, but the two England World Cup qualifying games could have a big bearing on that match at Anfield.
There are reports that Man United boss Jose Mourinho is demanding that England head coach Gareth Southgate should give Marcus Rashford a rest when the country clash with Lithuania on Sunday.
Mourinho reportedly feels there will be no need fielding Rashford on Sunday if England beat Slovenia at Wembley on Thursday – as a win against Slovenia tomorrow means England will have already qualified for the competition in Russia.
Now, if Mourinho’s request is granted to him, it will be in his favour as Rashford will be fresher for the clash with Liverpool the following Saturday – which will make him a big threat to Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Apart from this, if Rashford won’t feature in the Sunday game against Lithuania, it means Daniel Sturridge will be used in his place, and this, of course, will put the Liverpool man at risk of injury against in-form Manchester United.
