Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho is a big doubt for the Spanish champions ahead of their Copa Del Rey final clash with Valencia.

The former Liverpool player might miss that game after he suffered a thigh injury in the league win over Getafe.

The win over Champions League chasers Getafe came at a big cost following the injury to Philippe Coutinho.

The Brazilian international was replaced by Nelson Semedo after 69 minutes as a result of the injury and he’s now a big doubt for the Copa Del Rey final meeting with Valencia on May 25.

After the game which Barcelona won 2-0, the Spanish La Liga champions confirmed that Coutinho will miss the next ten days as a result of the injury.

He’s expected to be fit for the Valencia game later this month if the player does not suffer a setback in his recovery.

Coutinho has not enjoyed a good season for Barcelona in his first full campaign and the latest development has further compounded his woes at the club.

The player moved from Liverpool to Barcelona at the start of last season in a deal reported to be around £116m but he has failed to live up to that hefty transfer fee.
Liverpool scored 41 goals and also provided 37 assists in 152 appearances for Liverpool in the Premier League before moving to Barcelona where he has scored 18 goals and provided eight assists in 68 La Liga games.
