Chelsea Hero: This Is The Striker Conte Should Sign, Not Morata

Chelsea are yet to have a main man upfront ahead of next season after Antonio Conte told Costa via text message that he is not in his plans for the upcoming campaign.

Torino’s Andrea Belotti and Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata are two players heavily linked with a move to joining the Blues this summer.

And Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola has urged his former club to sign Belotti this summer.

Antonio Conte is in the market to replace Spanish forward Diego Costa but missed out on a deal to sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton. The Belgium international officially completed his move to Old Trafford on Monday.

It is understood that the Premier League champions are preparing a £70m offer for Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata.

On the other hand, Belotti is not expected to come cheap as his club do not intend selling him for anything less than his €100M release clause.

However, former Chelsea forward Zola thinks Belotti has some similar attributes with Costa and would, therefore, fit into Conte’s system than Morata would.

Speaking to talkSPORT, the Chelsea hero said:

‘I thought that considering the type of qualities Costa has, that Belotti was the perfect fit.

‘Morata is a little bit different, he’s more of a finesse player. He hasn’t got the presence of a player like Costa in the box. He’s a different player, he brings other qualities.’
