Gerrard has returned to Liverpool to treat his off and on injuries.

He is currently under rehabilitation for the set of injuries that hampered his Major League Soccer Season.

Steven Gerrard name has been struck out for Sunday’s match against Houston Dynamo and the rest of the season is still unclear for him. The final say depends largely on the doctors at the rehab and his coach.

“Steven had a re-occurrence of his hamstring injury. He’s obviously out for a bit,” Arena said in a recent press release. “He could do at home what he could do here as well. It was OK for him to depart for a week or two.”

Arena made this statement after several tabloids reported that Gerrard was undergoing training on the clubs training ground in preparation of the match against Premier League rivals Manchester United at Anfield on Monday.

“Gerrard is a top performer. He has scored three goals in 21 appearances this season and will return to the pitch for Los Angeles, who have clinched an MLS Cup playoff berth”. “Let us not rush him. Let us wait and see”.

The nagging hamstring injury sidelined the former England captain for much of September and the early part of October. Only time will decide
