Paris Saint Germain defender Serge Aurier will prefer a Manchester United move despite closing in on a Tottenham Hotspur transfer.
Reports in SFR Sport suggest that Spurs are on the verge of completing a summer move for the Ivorien defender and reaching agreement with PSG but the player will prefer a move to United.
It is understood that Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba urged the club to move for Aurier earlier this summer before they slipped down the pecking order the pursuit of the defender.
The 26-year-old has been tipped to leave Parc du Princes in order to get chances elsewhere after falling out of favour under Unai Emery last season coupled with his controversies outside the field of play.
The arrivals of Dani Alves and Thomas Meunier to the club this summer have also seen Aurier slid down the pecking order and was omitted from their pre-season tour in order to sort out his future.
Manchester United were said to have reached an agreement with Aurier earlier in the summer window but could not compete the transfer due to his ban from entering the United Kingdom, the same reason why he was not part of the PSG side that traveled to London to play Arsenal in the Champions League last November.
