Former Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois could be in trouble following the news that new Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is seeking a replacement for him as the club’s number one shot-stopper.

French football legend Zidane is back at Real Madrid after the 1998 World Cup winner was reappointed as the Los Merengues manager on Monday.

Real Madrid have had a disastrous season which has led to the dismissal of two managers namely Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari.

Zidane has been given the job of rebuilding the team as he has a contract run until 2022.

According to the publication from the Daily Mirror, Zidane is eyeing a summer move for Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea as part of the rebuilding job.

De Gea could be a direct replacement for Courtois with the aforementioned publication claiming that Zidane doesn’t fancy him.

Thibaut Courtois was left out of the Real Madrid starting XI for the La Liga win over Celta Vigo on Saturday evening.

Keylor Navas replaced the former Blues shot-stopper in the starting XI in what was Zidane’s first game in charge of the team since his reappointment.

Isco and Gareth Bale scored in the second half to give Real Madrid a 2-0 win over Celta Vigo at home.
