Why Everton might be wasting time in pursuit of Shinji Kagawa

It was earlier reported that Everton are seeking for the signature of former Manchester United midfielder Shinji Kagawa in the January transfer window.

Kagawa currently plays in the German Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund after joking in 2014 from the Old Trafford.

Pundits have therefore warned that the pursuit of the player remains a waste of time because he would end up failing to impress again in the Premier League, just like what happened when he was with the Red Devils.

It was also noted that the tense level of the Premier League is different from what was obtainable when he first came in at a younger age. He might not be able to survive the competition.

Also, the Japanese might not find a place in the Everton with the availability of playmakers like Gylfi Sigurdsson who is in fine form and might not be risked to be left out of any game.

Compared to Kagawa who is doing very badly, Sigurdsson has scored a total of five goals and two assists this season.

However, it is not clear if Everton will be willing to pay the sum of £12 million for a player as Kagawa who has not been very competitive in recent time.
