Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit calls out Mesut Ozil
Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit has called out German international Mesut Ozil to prove his potential again if handed the opportunity against Tottenham in the Saturday’s London derby.
The best of Mesut Ozil was seen again in the Gunners’ last game against Bournemouth where he was outstanding and also gave a quality assists in addition to scoring the opener in the game that ended in a 5-1 win for the North London outfit.
Before the Bournemouth game, the former Real Madrid midfielder was limited to a bench role as he fell out with manager Unai Emery because of his poor performance which makes the Spanish boss furious.
It was earlier speculated that the German international would be leaving the Emirates Stadium but he insisted on staying to fight for a starting role in the Gunners team.
However, with the opportunity handed to him, there could be some more which is the reason why the Gunners legend has asked him to show his real level on the pitch again.
Emmanuel Petit took side with the Arsenal manager, stressing that his management of Mesut Ozil has been good so far but there is a need for the player to be motivated and play his own part when he gets to the pitch again.
