Arsenal extended their winning streak to 11 in their 1-0 win against Sporting CP on Thursday evening during the Europa League game.

It was quite a difficult game for the Gunners team as they struggled to find their rhythm in the first half of the game. They had to wait until the 77 minutes when Danny Welbeck finally broke the deadlock.

The North London side now top their group with 9 points in three games giving them the hop to finish strong in the preliminary stage and a guarantee qualification to the knockout stage.

However, manager Unai Emery was not pleased with the performance of the team and could not hide his feelings about it despite the clean sheet and the win.

He noted that different things had happened both technically and individually between the course of the 90 minutes play and for him the first half was more of a poor play by his side.

He said it’s important his team put up a good spirit and play well because he has the desire to top his group so as to ease their progress.

Arsenal will return again on Sunday, in a bid to have their winning run extended to 12 games against Crystal Palace.
