Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan are reportedly plotting a move for Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri ahead of the upcoming transfer window this summer.
This is according to widespread reports emanating from the media in Italy especially Calciomercato.
The Blues left-back is no stranger to Italy having played for AS Roma until the 2018 winter transfer window when he signed for Chelsea.
The Brazilian defender has not been able to nail down a starting XI spot in the Chelsea team since that move from the Italian capital.
Emerson hardly figured under Antonio Conte in the second half of last season with the former Chelsea boss opting for Marcos Alonso.
The same trend continued for him at Chelsea when Maurizio Sarri replaced his compatriot at Stamford Bridge last summer.
Sarri preferred Marcos Alonso to Emerson but that has changed in recent weeks partly due to the dip in form of Spanish player Alonso.
The former Napoli manager has shared playing time at left-back with the two players.
Sarri is reluctant to let Emerson leave the club for a return to Italy with Inter Milan especially with the transfer ban looming at Chelsea.
Their appeal against the ban was thrown out by FIFA on Wednesday with the club revealing that they will seem redress with the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).
