Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona are plotting a summer transfer for Manchester United playmaker Juan Manuel Mata.
This is according to the publication from The Sun.
It was revealed that the former Chelsea player will have to take a pay cut for a move to Barcelona to materialize this summer.
Juan Manuel Mata was a Chelsea player until the Spaniard signed for Manchester United in January 2013 in a deal reported to be around £37.1m.
Mata is on a £170,000 weekly salary at Manchester United and he will have to take a pay cut for his move to Barcelona as revealed by the aforementioned publication.
The reduced wages would be supplemented by bonuses and a sign-on fee.
Juan Manuel Mata has few months left on his current deal with Manchester United who have already offered him a new contract if recent reports are anything to go by.
The player is said to favour a new challenge elsewhere rather than stay at Manchester United.
Mata could be one of several Manchester United players to leave the club this summer.
The likes of Antonio Valencia, Marcos Rojo, Matteo Darmian and Eric Bailly are also expected to leave the Theatre of Dreams when the transfer window reopens in the summer.
