Ciro Immobile

As per reports, Premier League Champions Chelsea will continue to try to sign Lazio striker Ciro Immobile in the New Year to please Italian boss Antonio Conte.

Conte was annoyed with the teams’ handling of business in the summer window, which saw the reigning Champions miss out on top transfer targets, including Alex Chamberlain, Romelu Lukaku, Alex Sandro and Fernando Llorente.

Alvaro Morata, 25, was signed for a club record transfer fee but the club has struggled in the absence of the Spain international forward with injury recently and the former Italy boss wants more depth in attack.

The 27-year-old Ciro Immobile has scored 17 goals in 17 matches for Lazio and Italy this League season and has attracted top clubs in Europe and from the far-east.

According to reports, the Serie A side have turned down bids of over £60million for the Lazio man from the Chines Super League but Ciro would push for a transfer to West London if the Blues are serious about their interest, as per the Sun.

Ciro’s team currently trail Serie A league leaders Napoli by only three points and would ordinarily like to keep the forward for the rest of the League season but an offer of about £53million could see him head to Stamford Bridge.
