Manchester United shot-stopper David De Gea reached a big personal milestone for his side, following their 3-0 win over Basel in the Champions League on Tuesday.
De Gea arrived Manchester from Atletico Madrid back in 2011 for £18.9million, and he has evolved into one of the most important members in Old Trafford following his impressive performances for the club in recent seasons.
The 26-year-old goalie is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world and has attracted interest from a handful of top European clubs – particularly Real Madrid – in recent transfer windows.
Manchester United have however been able to fend off Real Madrid’s advances for the talented star, and have been able to keep his heart at Old Trafford despite huge offers from other clubs.
The Spanish goalkeeper was able to claim his 100th clean sheet for Man United after their 3-0 win over Basel on Tuesday night, as strikes from Marouane Fellaini, Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford gave Jose Mourinho’s side the three points.
De Gea remains the No. 1 at Old Trafford and has continued his impressive start to the new campaign at the game.
Before the match, the shot-stopper told newsmen about his determination to become the best goalkeeper in the world.
He also made it known that he trains hard to improve every day and in every training session so as to be the best goalie in the world.
