According to Italian media reports, Premier League giants Chelsea will make more efforts to sign Maurizio Sarri in the next couple of days.
Chelsea switch focus to Sarri
The former Premier League Champions had seemed as though they were ready to turn their focus away from Maurizio Sarri, with a transfer deal proving to be complex to achieve. This is because of the release clause in Sarri’s old deal at Serie A side Napoli.
Despite the Italian tactician having been dismissed by Napoli, a transfer fee of €8million is being asked for by the Serie A side and legal action will be taken if these contract terms are not agreed.
The Blues have been strongly linked with a move for former Paris Saint Germain manager Laurent Blanc but as per suggestions from Football Italia, Maurizio Sarri remains a top transfer target.
New manager taking charge next season
The West London club are yet to sack former Italy and Juventus boss Antonio Conte but it looks only inevitable that the club will head into the upcoming campaign with a new head coach in charge.
Antonio Conte’s team finished 5th on the English Premier League log and won the Emirates FA Cup last term, meaning that the Stamford Bridge outfit will be playing their continental football in the UEFA Europa League next season.
