Chelsea lost their last premier league game against Crystal Palace last Saturday and will look to bounce back to winning ways when they clash with Serie A side AS Roma in the Champions League on Wednesday.
In the premier league, the West London club so far have 13 points after 8 games, and they are also 9 points behind Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City who are topping the table.
But as far as the Champions League is concerned, the defending English champions have won both of their first two fixtures and are currently on top of their group.
Since they were able to beat a strong side like Atletico Madrid at home, we should regard them favourites to win the Wednesday game – but, things have changed a bit (particularly since Kante picked up an injury), so, we need to wait till after full-time.
However, Antonio Conte is expected to give Pedro a start, and is also likely to replace Batshuayi with Hazard upfront, with Willian also behind.
Nigerian international Victor Moses is injured so, summer signing Davide Zappacosta should be given a start in the right wing-back position.
We also expect Fabregas and Bakayoko to take care of the center of the park.
And at the heart of Chelsea’s defense, the trio of Cahill, Luiz and Azpilicueta should form a formidable shied for goalkeeper Courtois who will be inbetween the sticks.
Here is the blues possible 3-4-3 XI as they clash with AS Roma on Wednesday.
GK – Courtois
DC – Rudiger
DC – Luiz
DC – Azpi
ML – Alonso
MC – Fabregas
MC – Bakayoko
MR – Zappacosta
AC – Willian
AC – Pedro
FC – Hazard
