Douglas Costa

West London giants Chelsea will rival Manchester United for Juventus winger Douglas Costa ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

This is according to the publication from Italian media outlet Calciomercato which claimed that the Blues will have to fend off the threat of Premier League rivals Manchester United.

The Red Devils were linked with a move for Douglas Costa in the winter transfer window but Juventus were not willing to sell him in the middle of the season.

The 28-year-old initially joined the Old Lady on loan from German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich at the start of last season before the move was made permanent last summer.

Juventus were said to have paid at least €44m to secure his transfer permanently at the start of this campaign.

Manchester United want to strengthen their right wing in the summer and they see Douglas Costa as the right man for the job.

Chelsea have transfer doubts over a lot of their wingers with the likes of Eden Hazard, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Willian linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge.

Belgian international Hazard has been touted as a possible replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid while Hudson-Odoi and Willian have been linked with Bayern Munich and Barcelona respectively.
