According to reports in Italy, Premier League champions Chelsea are planning to return to Turin with an improved bid to sign Juventus player Alex Sandro.

An Italian source Calciomercato, says the Stamford Bridge club are prepared to increase their offer to sign Sandro as they look to complete their first signing of the summer.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte looks to add more power to his squad ahead of a busy campaign next term, and it is said that Juventus are now expecting an offer of as much as €70m (£61.7m) for the Samba star in the coming days.

It is understood that the Blues are set to hand the player a five-year contract that’s worth more than £6m-a-year as Conte prepares his team for a return to the Champions League next season.

A few hours ago, Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta confirmed that a big bid was received from Chelsea this summer, though it was turned down.

Antonio Conte was able to win the Premier League title in his first campaign at Chelsea and in England. He was hindered from getting a domestic double following the 2-1 loss to Arsenal at Wembley.

He was, however, able to bring out the best in the players at Chelsea, and he intends having a stronger team ahead of a busy campaign.
