According to The Express, Chelsea have joined the race to rival both Arsenal and Liverpool in the transfer pursuit to sign Borussia Dortmund talented star Marco Reus.

The 27-year-old versatile player have won 29 senior caps for Germany and have also scored 51 goals in 119 appearances for Borussia Dortmond.

Marco Reus is a footballer who can play as a winger, in the midfield and up front and the Express claimed that Chelsea have been told in other to get the versatile player, they must pay £70m to buy him out of his contract which is said to be due in June 2019.

If Antonio Conte can convince Chelsea management to buy him – Marco Reus would become the most expensive player ever signed in Chelsea, smashing the record set by Fernando Torres who arrived from Liverpool in January 2011 for a fee reportedly worth £50m.

Reus have been ruled out of play with a groin injury which also ruled him out of Euro 2016.

But since returning in November, he has been in good form scoring five goals and providing five assists in 14 Bundesliga and Champions League games.
