In what could be termed as a shock move, reports claim that Spanish giants Real Madrid are interested in signing Aaron Ramsey from Arsenal.
According to thesun Real Madrid are prepared to pay Arsenal 25 million pounds to try to lure the midfielder to the Spanish capital and reunite with his country man Gareth Bale.
The versatile midfielder is top on Real Madrid’s lift of potential transfer targets because of his ability to play in various positions across midfield.
Madrid is confident of getting their target to leave the gunners to join them because Zinedine Zidane is prepared to offer the Welsh international regular playing time. Ramsey’s season has been hampered by a hamstring injury and the 25-year-old has just been able to start once in the premier league.
The reports also claim that Arsenal are in debt to Real Madrid to the tune of 11 million pounds and this amount is owed from the deal of Mesut Ozil as Arsenal are yet to balance up the transfer fee for the German. If the deal with Ramsey should go through the 11 million pounds would be deducted from the fee paid by Real Madrid.
Though Real Madrid is currently serving a transfer ban for the next two transfer windows imposed on them by FIFA, they have taken their case to the Court of Arbitration for sports (CAS) and are confident of winning the case which will see the ban lifted enabling them to be able to by players in the next transfer window.
