Chelsea legend John Terry has revealed something interesting he learn about Jose Mourinho when both were still together at Chelsea. He has worked under Jose Mourinho on two occasions at Stamford Bridge before the ‘special one’ swapped London for Manchester last summer.
The veteran defender revealed that if a player should picked up an injury in training, the Portuguese tactician would not speak to them until they were fit again.
Now in Manchester United, Jose has hit out at the fitness of some of his players and has even questioned the likes of Chris Smalling and Luke Shaw in particular.
The Chelsea skipper explained that Jose had a very stern policy when it came to training mishaps.
He explained that if a player should picked up a knock and missed a day’s training, the Portuguese coach would just come in and he wouldn’t speak to the player.
‘He would walk straight past you on the treatment table.
‘But you are sitting [there] as captain of the football club, you come in kind of looking for [the] high five from the gaffer.
‘You don’t get it, he blanks you and [he] says to the physio, while you are there so he knows what he’s doing, ‘How long?’
‘And the physio would say, ‘couple of days’ and he would just walk out.’ said Terry on BT Sport.
