Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger wants to sign Alexandre Lacazette before the start of the pre-season tour in Australia, according to reports.

The Frenchman is believed to be after a number of targets this summer, with reports that the manager wants to sign a big name striker to his current squad and has been linked with a move for the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Lacazette.

Recent reports revealed that Wenger has dropped out of the race to sign Mbappe and wants to sign Lacazette this summer but Lyon are asking for an astronomical figure for the services of the forward.

The 26-year-old was a target for Spanish giants, Atletico Madrid, earlier this summer but a transfer ban stopped them from signing the player till next January paving way for the Gunners to sign the striker.

Reports in the Evening Standard have it that Arsene Wenger has issued an ultimatum to sign Lacazette in the next weeks before their pre-season starts in July in Australia.

It is understood that Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud have been linked with a move to Lyon but club president, Jean-Michel Aulas has dismissed such reports, claiming Giroud wants to remain at the Emirates and become their number striker next season.
