Despite that they won’t be playing in the Champions League next season, Arsenal successfully lured Lyon star player Alexandre Lacazette to the Emirates this summer.

And according to news currently coming from France (via L’Equipe), the striker has been in regular contact with one of Arsenal’s top target Thomas Lemar, as the gunners awaits the response to their second bid for the player.

Arsene Wenger smashed the club’s record on Wednesday after paying Lyon £52 Million to secure the services of Alexander Lacazette after being strongly linked with the player in recent times.

And the French manager is ready to continue splashing the cash this summer by bringing in a versatile winger to his squad at Arsenal.

Both Thomas Lemar and Leicester City star player Riyad Mahrez has emerged as his top two targets and Lemar is said to be his preferred choice.

But after seeing their opening bid of around £30m rejected last week by Monaco, the gunners are understood to have submitted an improved offer of £40m to the Ligue I champions.

Now, it is being said that Lacazette and Thomas are enjoying a close friendship and have been in touch regularly since they linked up together on international duty last month. The French team were able to beat England and drew Sweden.

And the new friendship between the two players is expected to influence Lemar to push for a move to the English top flight too.
