Christian Benteke

Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke could find himself at Stamford Bridge next season after emerging as a target for Chelsea this summer.

According to reports, the Blues manager Antonio Conte is open to sealing the surprise transfer of the player. However, it was added that he will only be a backup to a bigger name.

Conte is said to be a big admirer of the talented forward who scored 17 goals in all competitions last term, including against Chelsea in the surprise defeat at home.

Even though the player flopped in his sole season at Liverpool, he has a decent record playing at Aston Villa and Crystal Palace, he has appears to be a nice option from the bench for a side like Chelsea.

The Daily Telegraph are reporting that Chelsea boss Antonio is looking at a handful of options up front after he missed out on Everton’s Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian is ready to seal a £75million move to Old Trafford.

Other top strikers heavily linked with the Premier League champions this summer are Alvaro Morata and Torino’s Andrea Belotti. However, a deal seems to be proving difficult to be struck with their clubs, and Benteke is now being considered.

Additionally, there are recent news that the Stamford Bridge club have rekindled their interest in Swansea City striker Fernando Llorente, and the player who has worked under Conte back then at Juventus, is keen on reuniting with the Italian manager at Chelsea again.
