One story circulating widely and excitedly in the Portuguese media is Victor Lindelof’s move to Manchester United in England. Popular Portuguese outlet O Jogo has reported that Lindelof arrived at Benfica’s facilities on Tuesday morning to complete formalities for his transfer to Old Trafford.
The outlet stated that Lindelof came back from spending Christmas in Sweden with his family and that the defender is expected to sign a new contract with his Portuguese club Benfica so as to raise his release clause to €60m.
If the deal should eventually sail through, Lindelof would officially become the most expensive player ever sold by Benfica.
Presently, the attention given to Lindelof’s update is so strong and a recent post by his girlfriend on instagram where she celebrated two years being in Lisbon, was regarded as a goodbye message.
Nevertheless, the latest update given by the Portuguese press is that Lindelof is at Benfica’s facilities to complete the formalities behind his move to Man United. This of course is a major step in the right direction.
Since arriving Old Trafford, Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho has signed four players so far. The players he signed are agreed to be successful in the team- following the impact they introduced into the squad. Perhaps, Victor Lindelof will eventually become the fifth.
