Arsenal to table £35.75m for top target as Wenger plots double swoop

As per Daily Mail, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will launch a bid to secure the signing of Jean-Michael Seri during the final stages of the summer transfer window while Wenger is also ready to table another bid for Monaco star Thomas Lemar.

Wenger has confirmed he’s looking to reinforce his squad having only signed Sead Kolasinac on a free and Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon so far and Lemar has been widely considered to be Arsenal’s next target.

The 21-year-old forward is one of the most exciting young forwards in Europe after helping Monaco win the French Ligue 1 title last campaign, scoring 14 goals and providing 17 assists.

The Ligue 1 Champions are proving very difficult to deal with as they’ve rejected three Arsenal bids so far – the latest thought to be about £45m – as they are keen not to see their title winning team dismantled any further.

However, that doesn’t seem to have stopped the Gunners as the Daily Mail reports Lemar remains Arsenal’s No.1 target and Wenger is ready to test Monaco’s resolve with a fourth bid for the attacker.

And it seems like the Arsenal manager is eyeing a double swoop as he looks to bolster his midfield options as the publication says Nice star Jean-Michael Seri is also on the Gunner’s radar.

Seri, 25, enjoyed a brilliant campaign last season to help Nice finish third in Ligue 1 and the Daily Star claim last week that the North London club are favourites to sign the player – although Ligue 1 side Nice are asking for the full value of his £35.75m release clause.
