Karim Benzema

North London club Arsenal have once again been connected with a move for Real Madrid ace, Karim Benzema, as manager Zinedine Zidane looks to trim his current team.

Despite Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insisting severally that Arsenal will keep hold of Chilean Alexis Sanchez even though the former Barcelona forward ends at the end of this season, Spanish publication Diaro Gol are reporting that the Gunners would prefer to sell the forward this summer and is reportedly eyeing Real Madrid striker Benzema as his replacement.

The La Liga giants are believed to be eager to sell some players, and since the Frenchman hasn’t been that consistent under French tactician Zinedine Zidane, only netting 11 goals in 29 La Liga matches last season, he’s the first striker being linked with a transfer.

Wenger’s side have supposedly been keenly interesting in the striker for years so, by default, they’re said to be interested in signing him from Real Madrid now that they’re willing to cash in on him.

Benzema, 29, isn’t at his best anymore and perfectly replacing outgoing Alexis Sanchez with him seems a tough order, since Benzema is an out-and-out striker while Sanchez is more of a versatile forward and prefers playing on the wing.
