According to German media reports, Premier League giants Arsenal are interested in landing RB Leipzig star Lukas Klostermann.
Arsenal boss keen on defender
German publication Bild, as cited by The Sun, is claiming that new Arsenal boss Unai Emery is keen on a possible deal for the 22-year-old full-back.
The same report says that Lucas Klostermann is seen as a possible long-term replacement for Per Mertesacker, who retired at the end of last season.
As per the same report, the Leipzig defender has a deal that is set to expire in 2021 at the German side.
Klostermann netted one goal in 39 matches across all competitions last term as he racked up 3,106 minutes of regular football.
Promising defender
The full-back won an Olympic Silver medal with Germany National team at the Rio 2016 summer games.
The Gunners have already brought in Switzerland international star Stephan Lichtsteiner for free in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal finished in sixth position on the English Premier League log last term to miss out on a UEFA Champions League place for the second campaign running.
The Gunners lost 3-0 to bitter rivals Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium last season.
The Emirates outfit haven’t won the English Premier League title since their unbeaten triumph back in 2004.
