Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s move to North London club Arsenal is a done deal as German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the forward’s exit on the club’s official website.
Deal Completed
The African’s transfer was announced by the Bundesliga outlet before Arsenal, but all signs had pointed towards a deal being completed today.
The North London club had two offers for the 28-year-old striker turned down by Borussia Dortmund before agreeing on a transfer fee in excess of £46.5million in July for the purchase of France international forward Alexandre Lacazette.
Prolific goalscorer
The striker’s arrival looks like a decent one for the gunners as they lost star attacker Alexis Sanchez to rivals Manchester United this winter, leaving a big hole to fill in the attack.
The Gabonese has been one of Europe’s best attackers in recent seasons, netting 141 times in 213 matches in total for his former side.
Delighted Arsenal fans
Arsenal supporters will be happy to see such a top striker coming in, and the striker could do well at the Emirates club alongside ex-Dortmund colleague Armenian international attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who was signed from Premier League giants Manchester United earlier this winter transfer window as part of the Alexis Sanchez deal.
