Alessio Romagnoli

Alessio Romagnoli has been heavily linked with a move away from AC Milan in recent times after he caught the attention of Manchester United’s Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

The Portuguese tactician is keen on bringing the 23-year-old to the Theater of Dreams this summer transfer window and has taken a step to make it a reality.

According to reports coming from Italy, the Old Trafford club have submitted a £44 Million bid for the Italian centre-back, but it was unfortunately rejected by the Serie A heavyweights.

Manager Jose Mourinho is ready to take advantage of the summer transfer window to reinforce his defense department by signing a new centre-back before the start of the 2018/19 campaign, and he has identified Romagnoli as a man who could perform a good job in his team.

Alessio joined AC Milan from AS Roma in 2015 and has been impressive at the Italian capital. He has evolved into one of the best defenders in the country and is an important member at San Siro.

Manchester United have been linked with Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld in recent times, but the London club were demanding £75m to allow the player depart their side.

The red devils are now exploring other cheaper options and intended signing Romagnoli with £44M – but Corriere dello Sport made it known that AC Milan have rejected the bid.

The Old Trafford club will need to go a bit higher and hope the Milan club will change their stance.
